Melody Watson - MPYT Co-ordinator

Hello! I'm Melody, a former member of MPYT, and I've returned to Powys to co-ordinate the whole operation! It's really exciting for me to be back, as MPYT played a huge role in my decision to study Drama at university in Bristol.

I am currently assisting sessions with Alice, Bethan and Tamar (which consist of a lot of laughs), and I'm also in charge of the social media, so if you see me popping up all over instagram - that's why! I'm on a mission to engage the young people of Powys in theatre and the arts, because it MPYT was so important to me growing up and I want to see it continuing to help young people navigate the struggles of growing up.

I’m also a member of the MPYT ‘Twenties’ group, which sent me to Green Man Festival (so fun!), and is offering me further training in leadership and directing. 

Resources like this are so important in rural Powys – when I was a MPYTer, I travelled all the way from Welshpool to attend! It was so worth it though, and I feel really lucky to watch in real time how it is continuing to shape lives for the better.
