Dr Kristen Treen

Kristen was a member of MPYT between 2001-2006 and co-directed summer shows for the company as an emerging professional between 2009-2011. She is now a lecturer in American Literature at the University of St Andrews, where she specialises in the literary legacies of slavery, emancipation, and the American Civil War. Her research, teaching, and outreach work are committed to exploring and advocating for the part the arts have to play as mechanisms for social justice and community-led activism.
